Statistics: Consumer price inflation at 0.1% in May 29–Mon
MOSCOW, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- Russian consumer prices increased 0.1% from May 29 through Monday, and inflation reached 1.7% since January 1, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a report on Wednesday.
Gasoline prices grew 1.4% and diesel fuel prices gained 1.2%.
In the reported week, prices for sugar grew 1.7%, prices for millet rose 1%, prices for poultry grew by 0.8%, for rise 0.4%, and for pork, lamb meat, and margarine by 0.3%. Egg prices fell 1.1%, buckwheat became 0.5% cheaper and tea prices shrank 0.2%.
Prices for fruit and vegetables went up 0.6% on average. Cabbage prices grew 11.8%, prices for onion and carrots rose 3.2–3.8%, and for potatoes and apples increased 0.7–1.2%. Cucumber and tomato prices fell 4.5% and 4%, respectively.
